August’s Contest: I Love Textiles!!

Posted by Garden Girls on Aug 01 2008 | .:Garden Contests:.

This month’s contest is hosted by Julie, click here for the details in the forum.

Ok all you ribbon hoarders - it’s time to get scrapping!
I want to see lots and lots of layouts this month. Your goal is to include ribbon, fiber, fabric, lace, thread. etc. on your work.

For every lo, card, or project done this month you will earn one point. If you use ribbon (and the like), that layout is worth 3 points.

At the end of the month, every 5 points you’ve earned will get you into a drawing for one of these awesome prizes:

Paper Prize:
Amy Butler kit by K & Company along with a surprise ribbon assortment from my stash!

Digi Prize:

We hope you’ll come play along with us this month!

July’s Contest: It’s All About the Scraplifts, Baby!!

Posted by Garden Girls on Jul 09 2008 | .:Garden Contests:.

Rachel is hosting this month’s contest and we are super excited, see the details below or in this thread.

This month’s contest is all about scraplifting!! You can scraplift someone from the Garden, scraplift someone “famous”, scraplift something from a magazine, heck you can even scraplift yourself!

I finally made the decision to get back into scrapping after over a 6 month drought. I think the thing that kept me from getting started again was trying to come up with a unique design each time. Then one day I was looking back at some of my old scrapbooks and realized that I didn’t care how the LO looked, I just liked reading the stories I wrote. So I decided then that I would just forget about creating the perfect LO and scraplift some of my favs to get my memories recorded!

So head on over to the gallery or pick up a magazine and lift away to your hearts content.

For every LO that you lift, you will get one entry into a drawing for the wonderful prize below. And if you lift someone from the gallery, you’ll get 2 entries for each LO completed! :D

Here’s the paper prize: (You’ll also get an acrylic block to attach the stamps to)

Here is the digi prize: A $10 gift certificate to Kaye Winiecki’s designs

Image is clickable to see her store, she also sells at the Digi Chick.

And here are some examples of LOs I’ve lifted recently. These lifts that I did give you just a few examples of the different ways you can lift someone.

I lifted this LO of Melissa’s pretty much exactly how she did it.
Melissa’s:

When I lifted this one of Christy’s, I took a few aspects of it, but changed it up a bit.

And on this one of Jules’ I kind of took the concept of her LO, but my end result, doesn’t really resemble her original LO.

May’s Contest — it’s in the cards

Posted by Garden Girls on May 16 2008 | .:Garden Contests:.

This month’s contest is being hosted by our very own Jill (jillybean). Instead of the usual LO contest, she is hosting a card contest. Below are the details.

May’s Card Contest

Seems like we never have enough cards made for when you need them, so all you have to do is make cards for a chance to win a clear stamp set.

Make as many cards as you like, each one will give you an entry to win. There are three different stamps sets, you just have to post your card and say which one the entry is for.

Hero Arts November stamp set….make a card about anything that has to do with November…examples the word november, fall leaves, turkeys, thanksgiving, thanks etc.

Perfectly Clear Happy Messages set…make a card with any message examples…Happy Birthday, friends, Hi, Hello, Thank you or missing you etc.

Perfectly Clear doodle wings…make a card with any type of winged creature…examples..Butterfly, Dragonfly, birds, ladybugs etc.

So if you made a birthday card with butterflies on it, you could either enter it for the Happy Messages set or the doodle wings set..your choice so hope to see some cards get done that you can use through out the year.
